City Morning- Pilsen

Oil on Canvas, 36" x 30".

 Welcome!

Thank you for taking an interest in my work as an artist. Here you will find not only current works, but past works, my biography, and other information. I typically post slides of what I'm working on every Friday.

I work primarily in oils watercolor and chalk pastel, but am also exploring other media in my small home studio. My subject matter seems to pull back toward figurative and expressionistic images despite my efforts to take it a different direction. There is often an underlying narrative present as well. If I had to identify with any movement, it would undoubtedly be the German Expressionists and the Neo-expressionists.

I currently study at the at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, majoring in Drawing and Painting. I anticipate completing my BFA in the spring of 2010.

I'll have a TON of new work posted after final critiques the week of the 15th. Included are several large city scape oil paintings, two large format figure pastels, a set of five huge monoprints measuring 32 x 21 using three plates, a bound book of woodcuts, and more! I'll see what I have in my lockers downtown.

Feel free to contact me at chicagostarvingartist@gmail.com if you have any questions.
